Oh, Boyd!
The meaning of life must be eating tasty Thai food together with friends. Just what I did yesterday evening – I can warmly recommend Boyd at Thompson Street in Noho (between Bleecker and West 3rd). Coconut shrimp with avocado and orange salad; seafood bouillabaisse; baked pear with pineapple sauce and lemongrass; two glasses of wine – for less than $25 with taxes and tips! And great discussions and gossip with my Swedish New York posse, too…
And during the afternoon, we were walking around at MoMA. Free entrance, like they have on Fridays, is really economically questionable. But it certainly creates a nice relationship to a venue when you can walk around and discuss with friends amidst great art – i e having the museum as a part of one’s lifestyle, instead of rushing around between highlights to get value for the $20 entrance ticket.
