Oh, Boyd!

The meaning of life must be eating tasty Thai food together with friends. Just what I did yesterday evening – I can warmly recommend Boyd at Thompson Street in Noho (between Bleecker and West 3rd). Coconut shrimp with avocado and orange salad; seafood bouillabaisse; baked pear with pineapple sauce and lemongrass; two glasses of wine – for less than $25 with taxes and tips! And great discussions and gossip with my Swedish New York posse, too… ;-)

And during the afternoon, we were walking around at MoMA. Free entrance, like they have on Fridays, is really economically questionable. But it certainly creates a nice relationship to a venue when you can walk around and discuss with friends amidst great art – i e having the museum as a part of one’s lifestyle, instead of rushing around between highlights to get value for the $20 entrance ticket.
